Admission Process

All registrations, transfers, and admissions are made through the Headmaster's - Principal's - School Director's Office. 

A. The primary and essential purpose for the existence of SURGE Christian Academy is to provide a

     Christian - Classical Education for the children of the families surrounding the Tampa Bay Area.

 

The following regulations have been adopted in order to ensure that a quality SURGE Christian Academy Education can be provided:

 

  1. All students to be admitted MUST accept the SURGE Christian Academy curriculum and discipline as provided in the school regulations.

  2. All SURGE Christian Ministries children of the parish are eligible for admission to SURGE Christian Academy.

  3. No student may be excluded from SURGE Christian Academy because of ancestry, color, ethnicity race, religion, or national origin.​           

  4. The admission policy shall not be based solely on a student's ability or achievement, but on a genuine desire to learn and willingness to unlock one's full potential. 

B. Selection of Students:

  1. Students will be admitted who give promise to being capable of successfully completing the total or prescribed educational program of SURGE Christian Academy. Incoming students who have a history of average or mediocre achievement due to lack of effort or application of skills, or have difficulty adhering to to policies, rules and regulations will be admitted on a probationary basis at the discretion of the Headmaster - Principal - School Director.

  2. The registration of children with special needs will be reviewed annually by the administration, school guidance counselor, teachers, and parents prior to the acceptance of registration. The purpose of this procedure is to assess whether SURGE Christian Academy can best meet the spiritual, social, intellectual, physical, and personal development of the individual child.

  3. When more qualified students apply for admission than can be accommodated, the selection of  those to be admitted must not discriminate against any group or individual.

 

The following criteria shall be observed at the discretion of the Headmaster - Principal - School Director:
       

a. Maximum Target Enrollment per class in each of the following grade levels shall be adhered to: 

     

              Kindergarten thru Third Grade        18 students 

              Fourth Grade thru Eighth Grade      22 students

              Ninth Grade thru Twelfth Grade      25 students
     

b. Students from the previous school year shall have the first priority.


c. Parents who have regularly fulfilled their financial - tuition obligations and responsibilities as listed in the SURGE Christian Academy Financial Policy.
